Great book!! I'd say the humor in this book and the Jerry Garcia quotes made me want to keep reading. Not fabulous but fun. Figuring out the killer was logically obvious not very far along on the story, though it was worth following it out to the end. Light compared to a lot of mysteries out there, though the characters did have substance and were believable. A nice quick read of a book that's good for the beach or a mental health day

This is such a singular approach to drawing animals. I'm thus affected with however my drawings clothed and feel my drawings skills have improved once reading this book. The author will such an honest job at explaining step by step the way to draw the dogs, with pictures enclosed, that I used to be able to recreate this on my very own while not the steering of the book. very nice, and extremely suggested.

Look elsewhere for good examples

Promising cover but the actual content is full of really poorly designed examples, a great number of those do not fulfill some very basic logo requirements. The way logos are categorized is not exactly helpful, either. If you are into really proper examples of professional, timeless logo design, try "Logo: The Reference Guide to Symbols and Logotypes" by Michael Evamy. I've bought these two at the same time and the difference is beyond comparison, clearly in favor of the latter.

Brilliant, funny and accurate book

a good entry point into the world of DJing from simple info on how to beatmatch to more complex issues such as scratching and setting up your gear. Very humourous throughout and inspiring. Never takes the "you don;t know what you are doing" superior attitudes- it aims to inform, share and make you laugh.

Any aspring DJ should not be without it.

Did not realize this was older versi

It was not clear to me that there were two version (one older and one newer with more electronic updates and not vinyl only). Still good information and not the sellers fault. I just wish it had been more clear that there were two different versions of the book.

WOW!! MUST READ!

I was like awww man this is only a novella but once I started reading OMG what a novella it is!!!
It's hot,it's sexy and boy oh boy do these two have major chemistry, my cheeks were a bright shade of red in a few scenes, I absolutely loved it! I won't give away any spoilers but THIS is how a novella is meant to be written! Start, middle and ending were perfect and it was wrapped up fabulously! Congratulations Lauren Blakely, Pretending he's Mine is my top novella so far for 2013!!

Review: Pretending He's Mine by Lauren Blakely

This was definitely a fun, cute read. It was just what I needed after reading a pretty heavy dark fantasy book. :) There wasn't a whole lot of depth to this story, but it was such an enjoyable read. Sutton calls upon Reeve to pretend to be her fiancee so she can land the job opportunity of a lifetime. In exchange, Reeve will also get the shot at one of the biggest leading male acting roles in the business.

I really liked Sutton and Reeve. Blakely did a great job of creating fun, flirty characters who quickly started blurring the lines of what was pretend and what was real. I think that was my favorite part of reading this book! Watching Sutton and Reeve struggle between deciding whether or not the other was truly acting a role was too much fun.

I personally think Reeve was a little more open that Sutton was. Sutton ran hot and cold, which drove Reeve crazy. One minute he'd think she actually wanted him and felt something more and the next he was confused by her withdrawn, hard nature. Watching him call her out on it in the wine cellar- ooh la la la! :)

Overall, if you're in the mood for a quick, light, enjoyable read- this book is a good choice!

Oh Reeve...You Rock My World!

Lauren Blakely's novella follow-up to Caught Up In Us is a 5 Star wonder. I love novellas and wished more authors wrote them. They are the perfect size to squeeze into a lazy morning or for a few hours when you can't sleep at night. At any rate, this was a great love story. I liked it because the relationship starts off the way I think most do...with intense attraction (or in this case, lust). Major like, and then love, develops later. This story follows the lust part of the relationship and it is H-O-T. You will never go to a theater production or library again without thinking about Reeve and Sutton.

I completely loved Reeve. Sutton I didn't quite warm up to but in hindsight, I think it's because her character was true to her heritage. She was British and a film industry higher up. She was supposed to be cool and untouchable. That didn't last long the more she got to know Reeve.

Great read...get it now!!!

Very Good Book

It is a very good book. Remember, engineering statistics is different from an ordinary statistics book in that its goal is to show you how to apply the subject in practical ways (ie using Excel, Mapel, other software programs and in solving real world problems). To this end the book does a good job. I would have given it 5 stars but in my opinion there should've been more detailed photos of software inputs. The book describes inputs but it is always much clearer when you can see it. However, it is a very good book.

Excellent refresher book on the subject

As a working professional in technical field I have been looking for a book that will help me brush on the subject. Only other statistics book I have is a text book I used in college, but it's too heavy on math part of it, and thin on practical aspect of statistics. To me this book has a perfect balance between the two. Math in the book should not be too difficult to follow if you have taken college level calculus classes (if you're reading this review I presume you have). There are a plenty of examples and exercises you can tackle, and more importantly the answer sheets are provided in the back for those who are self-studying.

Now to the software called out in the book. For the most exercises Excel should be sufficient. However chapter 4 requires something little more, and the author decided on MAPLE. This is not necessarily a negative, but you're kind of forced into using a 30-day trial or buying a student edition. In my case, after some research I narrowed my choices to two; GNU Octave and Maxima, both of which are freely available in Linux (and possibly in Windows as well?), and finally settled on Maxima because of ease of use, and MAPLE examples given in the book translated well to Maxima.

I'd recommend the book to anyone who needs a refresh course on the subject, or to someone who wants to work through statistics problems.

WE ARE GRATIFIED TO LEARN THAT THE FIRST EDITION OF THIS BOOK HAS BEEN WELL RECEIVED BY OUR colleagues in colleges and universities as well as by design and construction professionals. We have received many comments and suggestions, new reference data, and our publisher encouraged us to prepare this second edition only two years after the initial publication.

One major addition in this second edition is Chapter 18, Noise and Vibrations in Mechanical and Electrical Systems. With the increased use of mechanical and electrical equipment in buildings, indoor and outdoor noise and vibration could be a detriment to productivity and quality of life. This new chapter provides practical guidelines for architects, engineers, contractors, and building owners. As in the other chapters, the approach is to emphasize what and why rather than how.

The topics covered in this book are broad and are in a state of continuous advancement. New technologies and practices are occurring at such a rapid pace that substantial updating is necessary every few years. This is particularly true in the area of commuiucations and illumination engineering. For this reason, we decided to engage several contributing authors who are authorities ill their fields of engineering or professional practices. In future editions, additional contributing authors will be invited to participate, providing valuable inputs to one or more of the remaining chapters. We hope that with each new edition, this book will be recognized as the authority in every field of building engineering. Our approach, however, is to stress uniformity, continuity, and consistency so that all chapters read as if written by one hand.

This book covers five major disciplines, namely: HVAC; plumbing and fire protection; electrical power and auxiliary systems; illumination; and noise and vibrations. Chapter 1, The Scope and Impact of Mechanical and Electrical Systems, is a useful overview for both students and professionals. It provides comprehensive information not found in other publications, a culmination of years of practical experience. Instructors may begin the course by briefly touching upon the topics in Chapter 1, later returning to it at the end of the course when students have a better understanding of the topics. Professionals and others will find Chapter 1 useful in guiding them to specific chapters relevant to them. Either way, Chapter 1 is a vital tool and places each discipline into the increasingly complex field of architecture and engineering today.

Great book for newbies!

If ur stepping into the building services industry, this book will be a comprehensive packaged info for your reading pleasure. Includes lotsa real-life diagrams, plan routings, concepts and explanation. It's 4am over here in Singapore and I've just finished reading one of the topics, just imagine how attractive the contents this book has! However, the only and regretable drawback is: the units are empirical which make it very difficult for me for in my country, we use SI metric units.

This book is terrible. If you are a certified HVAC specialist, it is for you. However, if you are new to this then it is a total waste of money. Explanation is bad, example are nowhere relate to the section discussed. And worst of all, there is no answer keys. You will not have a clue if you are correct or not. Every chapter there are as least half of the review question are calculations, yet in each chapter there will be probably one page showing how calculation is done. Example one of the simplest thing:

COP = Cooling Effect / Power Input. If you look up the index, you cannot find the word "cooling effect", find out whichever chapter they discuss, or show you how to calculate the "cooling effect".

You are in luck if you do not have class that uses this book. You have bad luck if you have a "good" teacher that using this book. You are doom if you have a "bad" teacher who using this book, might as well drop it. Waste of time and money.

What an absolutely beautiful and enthralling retelling that takes your through Thomas's dark, hurting, playboy life, to a man who feels, cares, and loves like no man ever has! You can read this book by itself without reading The Sound of Salvation, but I highly, highly recommend reading both. They're so different despite being about the same thing. It is quite extraordinary! I deeply enjoyed Nadia's point of view in The Sound of Salvation, but nothing compares to reading Thomas's point of view. I said before that I need Thomas like I need air to breathe and this book solidified the fact that he is the perfect book boyfriend.

I.A. Dice did it again. She created this beautiful story that was much more intense and obsessively sweet. Thomas is a character that you will enjoy being in his head, seeing things from his point of view. He isn't perfect, but boy does he try.

I seldom come across a book that will leave me one hundred percent sated, but this book was everything a romance should be. Each of I.A. Dice's novels are complete masterpieces at taking you on a beautiful journey. If you're looking for a new book to read then grab this book, you won't be disappointed.

About the Author

Jay MacLeod is a parish priest in England. Combining Christian ministry with community work, MacLeod still plays streetball, or tries to. His working-class parish is one of the most ethnically diverse square miles in Britain, and MacLeod works closely with members of the local mosques to engage disaffected teenagers and to foster friendships across the lines of race and religion. He and his wife, Sally Asher, have three children—Asher, Kate, and Toby.

Eye opening read. Enjoyed the book thoroughly, from cover to cover. Definitely a must read for anyone who deals with low income students and those who are under served.
